The Grace
We are so lucky, and we had a truly lovely day today.
When we stopped at the Motel 6 in Nogales, on our very first drive down three years ago, we met a couple who have become very special friends. We lived in Winnipeg and they lived on their 42 foot sail boat in San Francisco. Not a great deal in common, other than our mutual dream of life in Mazatlan and the fact that they had two dogs and we had one, but it's been 3 years and we have become close friends. This year they sailed their boat, The Grace, down to Mazatlan as they have decided to make the city their permanent home. Grace is moored at the Marina, and they keep an eye on her from the terrace of their condo.
Today was the day, finally, when we took Grace out for a sail. It was the perfect day, the sun shone, it was hot, but not too hot, there were some waves, but not too many, and thanks to our hosts, who provided ginger pills for the weak at heart, I felt amazingingly well all day. (I've had a few not so great experiences on the water, so to be honest I was a bit apprehensive!)
Oh, if I could do this again tomorrow, I would be a very happy woman!

What a great day you had, as the weather is FINALLY turning it's windy face toward summer. This boat is a beauty and how lucky are your friends; the best of both worlds.
ReplyDeleteNice sailboat what a fun day you had with your friends cruising around the water!
